DWA goes pop!
After 2 highly successful CDs for Infacted Recordings - ¡ÆHere And Now¡Ç (2006), the ¡ÆDaydream¡Ç EP (2007) - ¡ÆThat Night¡Ç is the second full-length album from German synthpop sensation OBSCENITY TRIAL: and their first album for new label Major Records (home of IAMX, LADYTRON, MESH).
Debut album ¡ÆHere And Now¡Ç, produced by Olaf Wollschlaeger (MELOTRON, IN STRICT CONFIDENCE, SEABOUND) reached #20 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC), and won ¡ÆBest Pop Album¡Ç of 2006 in the German Rock and Pop Awards. That same year, OBSCENITY TRIAL appeared as support band for AND ONE¡Çs 13-date sold-out ¡ÆBodyPop¡Ç European tour.
In 2007, the ¡ÆDaydream¡Ç EP - featuring remixes from AND ONE and SPETSNAZ - reached #8 in the German Alternative Charts (DAC), and OBSCENITY TRIAL appeared live at both the Wave Gotik Treffen and Amphi festivals in Germany, and as support to SINS OF THE FLESH (Radio Inferno festival, St Petersburg) GRENDEL and SIVA SIX (Dark City festival, Edinburgh).
In 2008, OBSCENITY TRIAL released ¡ÆThat Night¡Ç and have just spent 2 months undertaking a massive 26-date tour of the US to promote the album, together with SPETSNAZ.
Already known for dance music, ¡ÆThat Night¡Ç marks a departure into more commercial territory for both OBSCENITY TRIAL and DWA: with songs such as ¡ÆMy Mind Your Mind¡Ç providing a perfect dose of electropop along the lines of DEPECHE MODE.
Presented in a luxurious Japan-only 6-panel digipak, containing gatefold insert with Japanese linernotes and obi, plus CD and 8-panel booklet from the standard European release, the Japanese Limited Edition of ¡ÆThat Night¡Ç is a true collector¡Çs item for all fans of synthpop: strictly limited to 100 pieces!
